Snowboard bindings are no longer a simple addition to a boarder's gear. First of all, there are two completely different kinds of snowboard bindings available, and although there are pros and cons to each type, it basically comes down to a matter of personal preference.
Discount snowboards are available to anyone who has the time and patience to look for them, and for many boarders, discount snowboards are actually an unavoidable option.
Besides, some of us would way rather spend our cash on travels to and from our favorite powder than on fancy-schmancy snowboards!
You've dreamed about competitive snowboarding ever since you first strapped on a board, you've worked hard to get good at freestyle, you've moved your physical conditioning up a notch ... and you think you're ready now for some serious competitive snowboarding.
But how do you know if it's for you, and how do you know if you're really ready for competitive snowboarding?
Cheap snowboards don't necessarily have to mean 'bad quality.' In fact, there's so much competition among snowboard manufacturers now that finding cheap snowboards isn't that hard -- and you DON'T have to sacrifice quality materials, workmanship or performance ability if you buy them.
Beginner snowboarding.... we all have to start somewhere, right? Beginner snowboarding isn't as hard as you might have imagined, either --
1. Figure out your beginner snowboarding stance. No, it doesn't matter whether you're a Republican or a Democrat, I've met great snowboarders who are both (and neither!), but you DO need to decide how to put your best foot forward -- literally. Have someone you trust (trust me on this) give you a little push from behind WITHOUT your snowboard on.
Which foot went forward first? If it was your left, you're a 'regular' snowboarder; if it was the right foot, you're a 'goofy' snowboarder. Don't take it personally, just know that that's your most comfortable stance, and go with it!

Snow boarding is maybe not exactly EASY to learn -- but it is 'simple.' Snow boarding really only consists of three basic moves that you'll need to learn, practice and get good at, in order to have a blast in the powder!

Online snowboard shops are a dream come true for many riders who don't have a retail store nearby to wander into, or don't have the good fortune of living near a snowboarding resort or hill. But online snowboard shops can also be a nightmare, if you've never shopped online before.

Extreme snowboarding is not for the faint of heart, that's for sure. But if you're pretty comfy on a board, and you've progressed beyond intermediate level snowboarding, you might have a yearning for the added adventure that extreme snowboarding will bring in to your life.

Freestyle snowboarding has been compared to skateboarding, only on snowy terrain. It's true that freestyle snowboarding LOOKS a lot like the kids you see on concrete everywhere ... riding on rails, going down stairs, and curving around obstacles.
After you've learned the very basics of how to stay on a board, balance, turn and stop (so that you can gently curve your way down a slightly inclined hill and stay on your feet), freestyle snowboarding is kind of the next level of skill development.
