The Six Most Important Snow Board Accessories
Snow board accessories are as important as snow boards
Snow board accessories can't be overlooked when you're shopping to go snowboarding, or when you're doing a pre-season 'inventory.'
There are at least 7 vital snow board accessories you need to have!
1. Boots -- after your snow board, your boots the most important item of the snow board accessories you'll need, and the very first thing you'll need to purchase. You need to find boots that fit your foot, your style and your skill level -- and it's always nice if they have a coolness factor, too. :) Since you can't ever try them out on the hill first, it's best to buy your boots in a professional shop where the staff can best analyze your needs.
2. Bindings are the next most important of all the snow board accessories. Make sure you buy your boots first, though, because your bindings have to fit the boots. Bindings are, of course, the things that hold your feet (in your boots!) to your snowboard. When you go to buy your bindings, take your boots with you so that the staff in the store can make sure you'll have the best fit.
3. Waterproof and warm clothing. Snow board accessories include warm, waterproof clothing -- at the very least, you need a long underwear layer (tucked in to socks!) that is made out of moisture-wicking material of some sort. The next layer should be fleece or wool for warmth (especially on your upper body) and then the final layer should include a waterproof and windproof jacket.
4. Hats as snowboard accessories deserve special mention because they are SO important. Did you know that nearly 50% of the body's heat loss is through the top of the head? So a hat made from something really WARM - wool or fleece, for example -- is essential.
5. Gloves or mittens are almost as important as hats when it comes to snow board accessories. Your hands will be exposed at all times when you are snowboarding -- not to mention that they may end up in the snow a fair amount when you fall -- so make sure they are protected by mittens or gloves that are made of nice, warm material.
6. Sun protection is a hugely important snow board accessory. The ozone layer isn't getting any thicker any time soon, so take care of your skin -- sunglasses, goggles and sunscreen are essential snow board accessories.
