What to Look For in Resort Snowboard Packages
Travel snowboard packages to suit every rider
Snowboard packages are becoming more and more common when you inquire about booking a day or a weekend at a resort.
Unlike the snowboard packages that consist of a snowboard, with boots and bindings to match, from your local retailer, travel snowboard packages usually include some combination of:
1. Your accomodation. It may range from a shared lodge bedroom to a tiny cabin, but it should be the basic offering in most snowboard packages.
2. Your lift ticket, or multi-day passes.
3. Snowboard packages may include a meal or two -- for example, your snowboard package might consist of '2 nights, 3 day passes, and two breakfasts.'
4. Equipment rentals are often included in vacation snowboard packages. Unless you're really partial to your own gear (I can relate!), it's nice to not have to pack it with you on the bus or the plane or train!
5. Snowboard packages often include travel costs to or from the resort destination -- look these over carefully!
6. Snowboard packages that don't include transportation to or from the resort may still include 'local' transportation, like a shuttle bus to or from a local shopping centre, or snow-taxi services around the particular resort.
If you are thinking of looking at snowboard packages, make sure that you:
1. Get ALL the information so you can do some math and compare prices.
2. Read the fine print VERY carefully to make sure you're really getting what the deal says you're getting!
3. Make sure there's a substantial savings involved; not all snowboard packages are a bargain!
4. Don't sign any contracts until you're sure!
